Draper offers a wide range of standard shading systems, notably manual and motorized roller shades, bottom-up shades and fabric tension shades. In most situations, one of these standard products will meet the project requirements. There are situations, however, where some of the components need to be modified to address conditions for a specific project. Brackets might have to be redesigned to address an installation issue or to achieve the required aesthetic. In these cases, the Solar Control Solutions team will become involved to develop new components. In addition to the shading systems themselves, Draper has a wide range of standard head boxes and fascias. In most cases, these components will be sufficient, but at times a custom head box is required.
Unfortunately, the original shading system installed eventually failed, not working for several years due to safety concerns. The shades had been disconnected and secured over worries that the 12' wide x 18' high units might fall. Also, the heat build-up from the sun-drenched street became too uncomfortable for employees passing through. With the help of Mermet high-performance fabrics, Draper Inc. shading systems and Triangle Window Fashions' installation, a new solar control solution was successfully implemented.
